Sol. Given,
Length (L) = 4m.
Depth (D) = 2.5 m.
Discharge (Q) = 4 × 10³ l/hour
Detention time of tank (t_d) =?
t_d = (Volume of tank (V))/(Discharge (Q) )
= (4×2×2.5 (m^3 ))/(4×10^3×10^(-3) (m^3 \/hour) )
= 5 hours.

S2. Ans.(c)
Sol. There are same defect in paint surface
(a) Flaking → It is detachment of paint film from surface.
(b) Chalking → Paintfill becomes powder due to insufficient oil.
(c) Blistering → Formation of bubble on the surface of paints.
(d) Cracking → Formation of crack on painted surface.

Sol. Thermal stress in rod

=10×10^(-6)×(200-50)×250×10^9
