→ for HYSD bar in tension increase the value by 60%
→ for bars in compression the value is increased by 25%

Sol. Fore bearing of line ‘AB’ = 119°48’
Fore baring is less than 180° so we calculate back bearing by adding 180°. If fore bearing greater than 180° than we subtract 180° from it.

Torn grain→ it is the depression induced in timber due to falling of tools over timber.

Detention time (t_d ) = 2.4 h or 2.4/24=0.1 day
Detention time (t_d) = (Volume of tank)/(Rate of flow or discharge(Q) )

= 2600 m³
Volume of each tank = 2600/2

Sol. Given, length of wheel base (l) = 7m
No. of lanes (n) = 2
mechanical widening W_me = (nl^2)/2R

Sol. A section buckles about the minor principle axis. For minor principle axis, area of moment of inertia is minimum, thus the radius of gyration is minimum. Hence, the compression members always tend to buckle in the direction of the least radius of gyration.
