Life Insurance Corporation has invited applications for the post of Assistant Engineers (AE) and Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) Specialist. It is giving an offer to the government job aspirants to join insurance sector by clearing one of the most reputed insurance exam. The notification for AE and AAO has been released on 25th February, 2020. LIC AAO and AE Recruitment 2020 dates are out. This year, there are 50 vacancies for the post of AE and 168 vacancies for the post of AAO in various branches of LIC across India. The last date to apply for the LIC Recruitment 2020 is 15th March, 2020.

Vacancies in AAO and AE Recruitment 2020
Total number of vacancies for Assistant administrative officer post is 168. The post for AAO includes CA, Actuarial, Legal, Rajbhasha and IT profiles. There are 40 posts in total for AAO (CA), 30 for AAO (Actuarial), 40 for AAO (Legal), 8 for AAO (Rajbhasha) and 50 for AAO (IT).
Total number of vacancies for Assistant Engineer post is 50. It includes 29 posts for AE (Civil), 10 posts for AE electrical, 4 posts for AE structural and 3 posts for electrical and mechanical engineers
LIC Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should check their eligibility before filling the LIC online application form for AAO and AE recruitment. As per the official LIC notification 2020, the candidates must meet the following criteria as on 1st February, 2020:
For both LIC AAO and AE exams, the candidate must atleast has a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from a recognized university or institute. Along with this, the post-wise education requirements for the different posts are as follows:
LIC AE (Civil): Candidate must have completed B.Tech/B.E. (civil) from an AICTE recognised Indian University/Institution. In addition to this, the candidate should have a minimum three years of work experience in planning and execution of multi storied building projects.
LIC AE (Electrical): The candidate must have B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical) degree from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Minimum three years of work experience in planning and execution of multi storied building projects.
LIC AA (Assistant Architect): The candidate must have a B. Arch. Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution and be registered with Council of Architecture. Candidates should also have minimum of three years experience in designing of all types of buildings with allied services. Candidate should also be well-versed with the green design building requirements.
LIC AE (Structural): The candidate must have an M. Tech / M.E. (Structural) degree from an AICTE recognized Indian University/ Institution. He/ She should also be well versed with structural design of high rise building with the foundation system. Candidates having experience in structural engineering software like STAAD, ETABS etc and other similar software
LIC AE (MEP Engineers): The candidate must have B.Tech/B.E. (Civil) degree from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution and must have a minimum three years working experience in planning and execution of Plumbing/Piping/HVAC system, Lift and Fire Fighting system and Electrical Sub-station in multi storied buildings.
Education qualification required for LIC AAO:
AAO (Chartered Accountant): Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidates must have passed Final Examination of Institute of Chartered Accountant and completion of Articles as presented by Institute of Chartered Accountant. The candidate should be Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
AAO (Actuarial): Candidates should have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution and have compulsorily passed 6 or more papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
AAO (Legal): Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in Law or LLM from a recognized Indian University/Institution. They should also have atleast three years bar experience.
AAO (Rajbhasha): Candidates must have Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level or Post Graduate Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level or Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.
AAO (IT): Candidates must have Graduation degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT or Electronics), or MCA or MSC (Computer Science) from a recognized Indian University/ Institution.

Syllabus for LIC AAO and AE exam 2020
The Mains examination test will consists of 300 marks and there will be 120 questions in total. There will be four main sections in the exam which are required to qualify individually. Along with this, there will be an English Language (Letter writing & Essay)/Knowledge of Language (Descriptive) which are just qualifying in nature.
The syllabus for all the four sections in including Reasoning General Knowledge/Current Affairs, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language is as follows:
For reasoning: Statement based Questions, Syllogism, Seating Arrangement, Coding-Decoding, Alpha Numeric Sequence, Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Blood Relation, Analogy and Odd One Out.
For General Knowledge/ Current Affairs: Recent credit and monetary policies, Indian Economy, National and International Matters, Currency and Capital, Awards and Honors, General History, Geography, Biology and Applied Science, Overview of Indian Financial System, Current Affairs,
For Quantitative Aptitude: Time and Work, Data Interpretation, Number Series, Speed, Distance and Time, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Approximation, Profit and Loss, Average, Mixture and Allegations
For English Language: Reading Comprehension, Sentence Arrangement, Cloze Test, Error Spotting, Phrases, Sentence Improvement, Synonyms-Antonyms, Elementary Grammar.
LIC AAO and AE 2020 results
The results for LIC AAO and AE 2020 will be declared after each phase of the exam is completed. The result for Phase I i.e. Preliminary exam will be declared first followed by the result of Phase II i.e. Mains exam. Thereafter, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of descending orders of the scores obtained by the candidates to call the candidates for interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in Mains examination and in the interview.
